ilk: Sunburn @ Yamaha Music School North East
Weaving together the colours of folk + classical, ilk’s distinctive sound uses unpredictable melodies intertwined with intricate guitar parts. Playing with sophisticated harmony, textures & storytelling, ilk’s songwriting has its own unique shape.
Formed by vocalist Agnes Jeanne Maria and classical guitarist Jacob Harrison, all of their music is written together, drawing on both of their experiences & musical influences.
‘Every song has stopped me in my tracks ... You never hear this style of guitar with this style of vocals, and it’s done in such a refreshing way where the guitar harmony is so delicately and intentionally woven within the lyrics and melody. There is so much love here. ‘
- Evan Barakos, North American classical guitarist

ilk: The Last Catch @ Durham Fringe Festival
ilk write & perform music for The Last Catch.
An old man in Redcar, on the northeast coast, clings to the glory days of film stars and giant fish, even as age strips him of worth and dignity with every humiliation. He is certain the monsters have returned, and makes one last voyage to restore his name. A young protege joins the hunt. Together they chase more than a creature: they seek proof for themselves, and for a resentful world. Darkly comic and moving, this play finds strange grace when two souls venture into the deep together.
